Bump Update: Week 13

How far along: 13 weeks & 3 days

Size of baby: About 3 inches long, weighs between 1/2 - 3/4 ounce, and is the size of a peach

Weight gain: 5 pounds

Maternity clothes: Not even close

Symptoms: Nausea seems to be under control but I'm still taking Unisom so I'm not sure if it's due to that or if it really is getting better.  I plan to stop taking Unisom next week when I hit the second trimester.  I've had some headaches the past couple days too but nothing that's unbearable.

Gender: Won't find out for another 7 weeks but I'm thinking boy

Exercise: Running 3-4 days/week and teaching 4 classes/week

Food cravings:: I haven't had a ton of cravings so far but every few days I could really go for some french fries and a Jimmy John's sandwich

Food aversions: This week hasn't been too bad with food aversions but the past month or so I've had a hard time finding something I want to eat.  I used to eat bananas every day in my lunch and I think I've had 1 in the past month.  I've been sticking to a lot of plain foods--bagels & cream cheese and yogurt.

Movement: Nothing yet

Sleep: Sleeping great thanks to the Unisom!  I'd say I only have to get up to use the bathroom every other night which is typically what I did before I was pregnant.  I'm a stomach sleeper so it's taken some getting used to sleeping on my side instead.  Not using or planning on buying a body pregnancy pillow because I just hold on to Todd instead. I will say though that I've been pretty tired a few days in the afternoon due to waking up early for work. Today will be rough since I had to be at work by 3:45 AM and have to work until 3:00 PM because of a presentation I have to give this afternoon.

Looking forward to: Picking out paint colors and changing out the closet doors from sliding doors to doors that open towards you in the nursery.

Best moment of the week: Finally sharing the news on my blog & facebook!

  1. I will say that the body pillow was a game changer for me. Starting about week 14 my sleep was terrible. Hopefully you keep sleeping well. I'm jealous that you don't have to pee every night.

  2. I liked my pregnancy pillow for a little while--but I mainly used it to keep from rolling over onto my back when I was further along in my pregnancy. I definitely understand the finding something you want to eat--as a total foodie I hated not really caring what I ate. Sometimes it just seems like you just have to pick something because you know it's time to eat!
