My weekend started on Friday and now that Lucy goes to school on Fridays, Cece & I dropped her off and then had a couple hours with just the two of us (part of which Cece took a nap). After school, Lucy had her first eye doctor appointment. She's had a red bump on her eyelid for a month now and after going to the pediatrician a few weeks ago, she recommended going to an eye doctor. We thought it might have been a stye but a stye is actually on the eye lash line so Lucy has a chalazion which is on the eyelid. Anyways, the appointment didn't go as smoothly as I was hoping considering we were there for 2 hours and only saw a doctor or medical professional for maybe 15 min of that time. After waiting and waiting, I eventually went out to the car and got the stroller for Cece since she was literally crawling everywhere and getting in everyone's way. They also wanted to dilate Lucy's eyes and do a "normal" eye exam since she's never had one before. I wasn't expecting that which took an additional 30 minutes to wait for her eyes to dilate....and then of course Lucy was freaked out because it was hard to see close up. After all was said and done, we were recommended to schedule "surgery" for Lucy to have the bump removed. In an adult, they can just numb the area and do it but with kids, they have to sedate them even though the procedure is only 5-10 min long. Really hoping this goes away on its own before the "surgery" date.
The highlight of the day though was when our A/C got fixed! It went out on Wednesday and had been about 85 degrees in our house (at least downstairs, it was probably closer to 90 upstairs). We had all kinds of fans going in the girls' rooms at night but it was still pretty miserable. We were worried we were going to have to have our entire A/C replaced but it just needed a new starter. We were told it should last another 5-6 years so let's hope he was right!
Waiting for the doctor
Cece is obsessed with wearing Lucy's sunglasses if she leaves them out; this was while the A/C repair guy was at our house
On Saturday afternoon, we headed over to Olive's for her Moana luau party. The girls all had a blast in their swim suits playing in the blow up pools and slip and slide. The party flew by and before I knew it we were heading home so Todd & I could get ready for our date night before the babysitter came.
Lynn did such a great job on the Moana theme; I always appreciate all the small details & wish I was more crafty or willing to spend more time on these things
Flower crowns/headbands, rings, and favors for the party-goers
Beautiful cake! Lynn's old coworker & friend made it and even handmade the sprinkles!

Posing for our typical anniversary pic (is it weird I asked our babysitter to take this?)
Dining outside
Todd had teriyaki salmon & I had crab cakes---both of which were delicious (although the salmon was actually slightly better)
And we both got a complimentary dessert for our anniversary so we (and by we, I mean me) ordered carrot cake and this chocolate peanut butter pie that was out of this world
Sunday looked to be our last chance to go to Zoombezi Bay for the year so we took advantage of the hot, sunny day and spent about 3 hours there cooling off in the water. We had a good time except the minor meltdown by Lucy when she saw that her favorite slide was closed. Later on Sunday afternoon, we walked to Murphy's Park for our neighborhood cookout. It seems like everyone came out of the woodwork because there were a ton of people I'd never met or seen before and there were a lot of kids. Lucy actually met a new friend who lives behind us and had just moved in a few months back. It's nice to meet some of the other kids she'll eventually go to elementary school with.

Heading back home
Once the girls were in bed, Todd ran out and grabbed some food so we could have a "date night" in and then we cut our anniversary cake and each enjoyed a slice of the vanilla bean cake with almond filling---so good and something we look forward to every August 20!
Our wedding colors were pink and white so Todd thought these flowers were fitting....and that's our anniversary cake before we dug into it
