A few months back when I started asking Lucy about ideas for her birthday party, she brought up the idea of a tea party. I knew hosting one at our house would be a lot of time and work so I looked into having her party at The Glass Slipper in downtown Powell which is less than a mile from our house. As it turned out, they offered several different birthday party/tea party themes and Lucy loved the idea of a Fancy Nancy tea party so that's what we went with. Lucy's party was on Saturday afternoon and 7 of her friends & cousin came to celebrate her birthday. This was by the far the easiest birthday party ever because literally all I had to do was find invites on Etsy and mail them out to her friends. The Glass Slipper provided everything else--cake, favors, and the entertainment. The party was 2 hours and the girls were busy the entire time--they colored, dressed up, read a Fancy Nancy book, played a game, had a tea party and birthday cake, Lucy opened her presents, they made butterfly wings, and played the limbo. I have no idea how they actually managed to fit in all that stuff in 2 hours but they did! As far as I know, all the girls at the party had a fun time and Lucy said it was "super great!" Also, I am definitely taking this route again when it comes to her birthday parties in the future! Stress free + no cooking + no cleaning = happy mama!

Welcome to Lucy's Fancy Nancy Tea Party
Table set up for the tea party
The girls started by coloring a Fancy Nancy picture
Cece (and Todd) were there at the very beginning but then went home
Cake and favor bags

Once all the girls arrived, Lucy was crowned and the party started
All the girls went upstairs and picked out a dress to wear
Lucy went first as the birthday girl
All the girls dressed up
Then, she got to make a handprint along side all the other little girls who have had parties there
Lucy's handprint
They read a Fancy Nancy book next
Then, they played a game
The tea party was next and the girls dined on pink "tea" (pink lemonade), mini chocolate chip muffins, and fruit kabobs
Mouths full = a quiet room
Since everyone was already at the table, they did birthday cake and presents next
Still can't believe she's 4!
When it came to opening presents, the girls would count to 3 and one of the ladies helping with the party would wave her magic wand and whichever present she landed on when they said 3 was the present Lucy would open
Whatever present Lucy opened, the girl who brought her that gift would sit in the chair next to her while she opened it
Lucy was thrilled one of her friends (another little girl named Lucy) from her preschool class the last two years was able to come; they go to different schools this year and miss playing with each other
After presents, the girls decorated butterfly wings

The party ended with a game of limbo (which was hysterical to watch)...
and handing out favors
