Todd turned 38 last Thursday (it seems like just last year we went on the Bourbon Trail with a bunch of friends to celebrate his 30th!) but since we both had to work and Lucy had tap in the evening, we didn't get to celebrate until Friday. Todd had the day off and since I'm already off on most Fridays, we planned to spend the day celebrating his birthday with the girls. He loves breakfast so I suggested going out to breakfast and out of all the places we could've gone, he picked IHOP because he knows the girls love pancakes.
While he was out running some errands later, I spent some time making his birthday cake, Ultimate Oreo Cheesecake, which just like last year, was fairly time consuming. I altered a few things in the recipe (both intentionally and unintentionally but luckily it turned out great). We went to another kid friendly restaurant for dinner, Red Robin, and came back to the house for cake and presents with my dad, sister-in-law, and nephew also there to help celebrate.
On Saturday, Todd & I went to dinner at Watershed Distillery Kitchen + Bar for his birthday and then stopped by Daily Growler for a beer and a couple crowlers for Thanksgiving.
I love Cece's cheese face when taking pictures
She loved her cupcake pancake with sprinkles and devoured her eggs as well
Lucy picked the chocolate chip smiley face pancake
One of the first of many daddy daughter pics of the day
Oreo cheesecake cooked and ready to set in the fridge to cool
I had made chocolate cake layers to put the cheesecake in between
Iced with buttercream frosting and topped with crumbled Oreos
The birthday boy
Singing happy birthday
Blowing out his candles
Another one with the girs
Tried to include William but he just wanted mom
The girls got Todd some "Dad" beer
The inside of the cake once we cut into it
Todd on Saturday evening outside Watershed
I loved their drink menu/magazine--they change it up (both the drinks and design of the menu) every 3-4 months
Todd and his drink, Coffee & Cigarettes
We had seats right next to the windows to the distillery
Todd got a pork chop for his meal...
and I got brussel sprouts and the Apple Bottom salad
He also got a slice of cake for his birthday for dessert
But his real dessert was this rum flavored beer at Daily Growler
