A Low-Key (Healthy!) Weekend

We've had a rough couple weeks around here with sickness but we're (hopefully) all healthy now!  I had a really bad cold (never had a fever) two weeks ago, Cece got sick a few days later with a 102 fever, a few days after that (last weekend) Todd came down with whatever it is we all had but again, like me, with no fever, and finally it hit Lucy in the middle of last week with again a 102 fever.  Poor girl had to miss 2 days of school (and they're on spring break this week so she basically missed 2 weeks) and she was just heartbroken.  She felt bad on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week and we were hoping she'd be better on Thursday for Kindergarten.  We woke her up and she got ready but within 10 minutes, we knew she didn't feel good.  She started crying because she wanted to go to school.  It was the first time all 4 of us have actually been sick from the same thing but by Friday, everyone felt relatively good and was fever-free!

We had to reschedule a playdate we had planned for Friday because I wanted to be cautious so we ended up running a bunch of errands that morning.  Lucy had also mentioned she felt like her shoes were getting too small so we stopped at DSW and picked her up a couple new pairs (and ones with easier shoe laces to tie since she's learning how to tie her shoes).  Once we were home in the early afternoon for lunch, we stayed home the rest of the day.

She was so excited for some new sparkly shoes

Surprised them with milkshakes since they were troopers tagging along for errands

You know she wasn't going to be shy about drinking her shake

I took the girls with me to the Y on Saturday morning so Todd could get some homework done.  Then, we played at home until getting Cece up early from her nap so we could head to Easton and go to dinner at Melt (and hopefully avoid a long wait).  Of course, our plan backfired and even though we got to Melt by 5:15 PM, we still had an hour and 20 min wait.  Apparently, we got there right after a large group (a soccer team) was seated so quite a few tables were taken.  The girls were champs though and we somehow stuck it out for the long wait.

Another weekend, another Easter egg hunt around the house

The girls helping Todd put together a new ceiling fan for Cece's new big girl room

Since we were at Easton, we stopped by The Rooms exhibit sponsored COSI

The mirror room

The girls loved this room; it used to be the White Room but then they give out stickers that you can place anywhere in the room

No trip to Easton is complete without a stop at the American Girl store; I promised the girls we'd be back again for a longer trip because we were trying to get to dinner to avoid a long wait (it clearly didn't matter though)

The only perk of a long wait at Melt is that they will text you when your table is ready so we were able to walk around a few stores close by like Elm & Iron; Todd was thisclose to buying this car chair for the basement

My Winner Winner Chicken Dinner sandwich was well worth the wait!

Todd got one of the monthly specials, General Tso's Chicken sandwich, and said it was just okay (a little too salty for him)

Again, I took the girls with me on Sunday morning to work out and to the grocery store to give Todd a few hours to study.  After lunch, we all walked/biked to Murphy Park to play for a good hour or so.  It definitely wore them out because Cece went right down for a nap once we got home. Nothing else worth noting from Sunday and I'm looking forward to the week ahead with a few days of sun and 60 degrees!

Our home away from home when the weather is nice--Murphy Park!  Cece would only go down the slide feet first on her belly

Cece ordering food from me at the store; I was impressed she ordered carrots (she clearly knew it was pretend because she would never order carrots otherwise)

Felt so good to be playing outside with the girls

They love to go to the horseshoe throwing area and have races up & down the path
