Bump Update: Week 18

How far along: 18 weeks & 3 days

Size of baby: About 5.5 inches long, weighs about 6-7 ounces, and is the size of a sweet potato

Weight gain: 8 lbs

Maternity clothes: Still wearing all normal clothes (with the button still buttoned!) but need to buy another bigger bra already

Symptoms: Headaches and a decreased appetite...I've been getting full so much quicker than I'm used to.  I haven't had the feeling at all of being ravenous...quite the opposite actually.

Gender: Thinking boy (we find out in 8 days!)

Exercise: Ran 6 mi on Sunday which was my longest run in about a month and felt good...only issue that's come up recently is the feeling that I have to pee as soon as I start running.  I've still been running 4-5 times/week and teaching 3-4 classes/week.  I honestly think keeping up my exercise is why I've felt pretty good for the most part....I haven't had any back pain or hip pain yet (knock on wood) and haven't been extremely exhausted either.

Food cravings: Fast food

Food aversions: I bought everything bagels on Sunday and by lunchtime on Monday, it was the last thing I wanted to eat but I had to otherwise I would've only had veggies and yogurt for lunch

Movement: I think I actually have been feeling the little one moving the past few days; it's a hard feeling to describe but it almost feels like a tapping from the inside or flutters that I'll feel for a few seconds here & there throughout the day.  It's definitely low enough to be the baby so I'm excited for the feeling to get a little bit stronger.

Sleep: No major complaints, still only getting up to pee a few nights a week and waking up a few times each night to get more comfortable

Looking forward to: Starting our baby registry this weekend!

Best moment of the week: Best moment was feeling Baby Rodrick move but we were also excited my parents bought us our car seat/stroller travel system the other day.  It's crazy to think we already have that, the crib, dresser, and the nursery painted....we're getting really excited as each day goes by and gets closer to September

  1. That's the same travel system we have! I've been so so happy with it--it's so easy to go into the car and into the stroller. We bought two carseats, but honestly I think we would've been ok with one carseat and a base for each car. Just a word of wisdom! :)

  2. You have so much stuff already! I'm feeling behind! I registered for that car seat but we haven't gotten it yet and we went with the keyfit caddy to go with it! Sounds like you're doing well with your running too- great job!
