Thank god it's finally Friday! We have had the longest week around here with something scheduled (or multiple events) every night this week. Since schools were closed part of last week, a few events were switched to this week on top of things we already had scheduled. We had a couple "bigger" events that I wanted to make sure and document.
Our week started off with Cece & I going to a school assembly for Lucy on Monday afternoon. I had received a letter last week from the school that Lucy had won an award for consistently showing respect in and around the classroom. Every quarter, two kids from each classroom are selected that demonstrate one of the four characteristics of the school's Pawsitive Promise (their mascot is a tiger). Each quarter is a different characteristic and second quarter was Respect. Since there are two Kindergarten schedules in our school district, Lucy only goes to school on Mon/Thurs and every other Wed. In the first quarter, they nominated students for demonstrating Teamwork but they held the assembly on one of Lucy's non-kindergarten days which means they chose students that are on the Tues/Fri and every other Wed schedule. This was the first chance kids from her class could've been selected and I'm really proud of her for earning this award. It also makes me feel good that we must be doing something right as parents! Lucy was really surprised too because she had no idea she was getting this award and that we were going to be at her assembly.
Tuesday afternoon was Cece's normal dance class but then afterwards, we had her annual Art Gala at her preschool. They had some of the kids' artwork displayed as well as some crafts to do and snacks. Since Lucy went to a different preschool last year (we put her in the local school district peer model preschool program when she was 4 so she could get accustomed to the school system she'll be in), we didn't have anyone in the church preschool we had Lucy in at 2 & 3 and the current preschool Cece is in now as a 2 year old. It was great to run into some friends and other parents we hadn't seen in over a year.
Wednesday was PJ day at preschool for Cece as well as Lucy's monthly girl scout meeting in the evening. Last night was a normal evening for us with Lucy's tap class.

And Cece fell asleep on the couch right before dinner since she didn't get to take a nap that afternoon
Tuesday afternoon was Cece's dance class (for some reason, only 3 kids out of 6 showed up)
Listening to their teacher
Lucy gets to play with the iPad while Cece is in dance class and then on Thursday when Lucy has tap, Cece gets to play with the iPad....this picture cracks me up though with her legs crossed, she looks so old!
