Yesterday marked Lucy's 1 week birthday and 1 week postpartum for me. I'll be honest, I look a lot better than I ever imagined I would this shortly after giving birth. I was slightly afraid to look at my stomach a few hours after having Lucy but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't even look like I was pregnant. Yes, I had a bit of a belly but it wasn't hard like I was pregnant and was just kind of squishy.
I'm so glad that I exercised my entire pregnancy, taught Spin/TRX up until 40 weeks, and even ran a couple miles two days before giving birth. I think this is the main reason I've not only bounced back so quickly but also had a relatively "easy" labor & delivery. Yes, the contractions were unbearable for about an hour and a half or so until I got an epidural but I only had to push through 6 contractions before Lucy was born.
I gained 19 pounds during my pregnancy and when I got home from the hospital 2 days post-delivery, I had lost 7 pounds. Each day though, I've lost another 1-2 pounds and as of yesterday, I only had 3 more pounds to lose to return to my pre-pregnancy weight. I can tell a difference though in my pre-pregnancy stomach and my stomach now in that I don't have as much muscle tone and when I start back up teaching Spin/TRX in 4 weeks, my core is going to be pretty weak.
I plan on taking it easy these next few weeks, going on walks here & there, and will hopefully slowly incorporate back in some TRX (at home) and some easy running. I'm also going to need to go to a Spinning class before I plan on hopping back on the saddle to make sure everything feels comfortable.

One week later
I can't believe she fit inside my belly!

you're looking good! :)
I wish I had been better about exercising through my pregnancy. It obviously pays off!
