WHY POST WORKOUT SNACKS MATTER 
In our busy lives, we often overlook the details. That’s true sometimes at work, sometimes at home, sometimes when we workout. What every personal trainer strives to teach is that the workout isn’t over when you leave the gym or end your run in the park. Recovery is also a huge part of the process on the path to fitness success. If you don’t incorporate a some post workout snacks in your daily routine, then sweating and struggling with the machines doesn’t make a lot of sense. 
According to the healthy snacks section of Nuts.com, women who reported two or more snacks per day have higher fruit and vegetable intakes compared to non-afternoon snackers. Researchers and experts both agree on this point. “Refueling properly after a workout can positively affect the body for days or even up to weeks”, registered dietitian and wellness coordinator at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports Angie Scheetz said.  
The reason why many people still don’t follow this universal rule isn’t necessarily laziness, but mostly lack of time when it comes to prepare a powerful post workout snacks. How can you blame them? In the end, when a solid workout is over, you’re probably tired, sweaty, and with many thoughts in your mind. However, not all those snacks require long time to be prepared. Let’s take three different options. Are you in a hurry and have only a couple of minutes? The answer is a delightful Spirulina, ready in only 2 minutes. All you need is spirulina, banana, fresh spinach, apple juice, crushed ice, and lemon juice. Let’s assume that you have sometime but you don’t want to spend too much time preparing your post workout snack. Then a packed detox smoothie is a what you want to eat. It takes only 5 minutes to prepare. This smoothie is a blend of almond milk, a frozen banana, spirulina, hemp protein powder (optional), fresh mint, chia seeds, and hemp hearts. 
For those of you who are able to set aside even more time, a tasty Veggie Quinoa Casserole is a great post-workout option for you. This dish offers complex carbohydrates and needed electrolytes to aid your recovery.
