Christmas 2018 was a great one! The girls didn't wake up until almost 9:00 AM (although I was up at 7:00 AM because I wanted to be up and ready for whenever they got up) and they immediately came downstairs to see what Santa had brought them. We spent about an hour or so opening presents and the rest of the day they played with their new toys. My parents came over later in the afternoon after Cece's nap so we could celebrate with them. The girls opened a few more presents and then we had dinner and dessert together. After being gone for a couple days, it was nice to celebrate Christmas at home.
Santa came around 1:00 AM on Christmas morning
The girls had picked out their cookies to give to Santa a couple days earlier so I knew which ones to set out; Lucy had also made a picture and a present for Santa
Cece was the first one to wake up around 8:45 AM and then immediately went to Lucy's room to wake her up
Walking into the family room to see all the presents
They're so patient every year because I always want to take a family picture first before they start opening presents so while Todd got the tripod ready, the girls were looking at all the presents
Traditional family picture in pjs
Getting their stockings down
Opening presents
They each got a Starbucks gift card to use at Target for cake pops
Starting to open the bigger presents
Lucy got her Chelsea Choo Choo Train from Santa
Cece also opening a present from Santa
She got her big Anna & Elsa dolls that she had asked for
Moving on to the presents from Todd & I
I'm pretty sure Cece's favorite present was this bag of princess jelly beans...I mean, look at that grin!
Lucy made each of us a present out of construction paper--Todd got a Santa hat
Cece got candy canes with a green bow
And I got...
a Mrs. Claus hat (which she made in reverse colors as Todd's Santa hat so we wouldn't get them confused)
Opening the family present Lucy made us in kindergarten
It was a really cute glass ornament that she had painted a Christmas tree on
Their babysitter even dropped off a present for them last week
He got a beer and socks in his stocking...
and some wooden hangers & Lego car (his goal in his adult life has been to have a closet full of wooden hangers)
The girls helping him put together his Lego Speed Record Car that reminded me of the Buckeye Bullet that he worked on in college, an electric car that they built to break the land speed record at the salt flats in Utah
