Weekly Recap: May 10-16

I felt like I had a strong week of workouts and have been noticing that I've been sore a lot more after lifting. I think part of it is because I'm doing more circuits, which means more reps and less rest between sets. I also ran on Saturday! Well, I guess you could call it a slow jog. I actually did wear my garmin just because I knew I'd be curious about my pace during the Race for the Cure. We walked the first half mile or so just because it was so crowded but then ran about a half mile. My leg felt good after that half mile. We walked the second mile and then ran the last 1.1 mile to the finish. Our pace was right around 10:00 min/mi which I was totally fine with. The good news, my leg didn't hurt! The bad news, I told myself I'd wait to start running until June 1 so these next couple weeks are going to be torture since I know my leg doesn't hurt.

Monday: 40 min elliptical, 15 min stepmill (intervals with 2 min @ 70-75 steps/min & 1 min @ 90-95 steps/min)

Tuesday: 30 min elliptical; total body circuit including running 2 floors of stairs x 10

Wednesday: REST

Thursday: 45 min elliptical; lifted legs & core

Friday: 45 min spinning

Saturday: Columbus Race for the Cure 5K; I ran about half of it and walked about half of it

Sunday: taught 20 min core & taught 50 min spinning

thats awesome about feeling good to run! i'm happy for you :) i hope you liked race for the cure.... the amount of people down there almost makes you want to run more than anything - there are WAY too many walkers for me to try and dodge!
