Back on Track...

I finally had a great run this morning! Now granted, it was on the treadmill & only 4 miles but no hip pain + tempo pace = a great run. I ran 4 mi in 7:44 pace (8:28, 7:52, 7:28, 7:10). I was also able to try out my new HR monitor that goes with my Garmin that Todd got me for Christmas. My HR stayed pretty steady around 160-165 for the majority of my run (~80-85% of predicted max HR) and got up to 184 at the very end (~95% of predicted max HR). It's great to have the HR monitor to see how hard I really am pushing myself at times. It also helps take my mind off of the fact that I'm running in a treadmill and makes the time go by faster.

I know running 4 mi isn't much but you have to start somewhere & I'm getting excited about what 2011 has in store for racing!

Awesome! Good for you! I couldn't even make it 4 miles the other night on the treadmill (I made it 1!) so you're off to a better start than me!!
