Busy Weekend

I had a non-stop weekend & I'm just so now sitting down on Sunday evening to relax for the first time. Yesterday morning, Emily & I ran the Capital City Half Marathon. I'll have a full race report on Tuesday but was happy with my 1:42 finish (7:49 pace). I think my favorite part of the race was the champagne afterwards. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be unlimited refills but they kept giving us more.

We came back to my place and showered before heading out to Sara's baby shower. Since Sara lives in Nashville, Em hadn't seen her in quite a few months & I hadn't seen her since Todd & I visited her & Jay in February. She had quite the cute little baby bump going on.

We decorated onesies for the new baby

Mine was only fitting since both Sara & Jay are marathoners & have both run Boston

After the baby shower, Todd & I took my parents to dinner & then while Todd & my dad had a couple beers, I took my mom across the street to the Candle Lab to make candles for Mother's Day. We were able to smell a bunch of different scents and then decided on the 2 or 3 scents we wanted to use to make our own candle. We then mixed the scented oil together, determining how much of one scent we wanted over another, and then poured it into the wax in the jar to make our candle. My mom made a blackberry pear candle while I made a watermelon, pineapple, and lime candle.

Today, I woke up with some sore shins & tight hips from the race yesterday but felt much better after teaching my spinning class. Afterwards, my mom & I went shopping together for my birthday next Sunday! We were gone all afternoon and when I got back home, Todd & I went to the grocery store and made dinner. Like I said, it was a busy weekend and I'm just now sitting down on the couch to watch the movie 127 Hours with Todd.
