Weekly Recap: September 17-23

Hard to believe I'll be running my 7th marathon on Saturday.  I trained so hard this summer and hope my race reflects that dedication & commitment.  I ran my last speedwork session yesterday and had great 800 splits.  I like to do mile repeats during marathon training but threw in a few 800 repeats this training cycling and my times improved drastically!  I might actually do a separate post on that this week because I was seriously in shock to see the change.

Anyways, looks like this will be a week of easy runs before gutting out a PR (fingers crossed) on Saturday.  I just got nervous typing that too.

5 days until Akron Marathon!
6 weeks until NYC Marathon

Monday: 6 mi (8:29 pace)

Tuesday: taught 1 hr Spin/TRX Combo class

Wednesday: 5 mi (7:42 pace; 3 mi @ tempo @ 7:27, 7:23, 7:06)

Thursday: taught 1 hr Spin/TRX Combo class

Friday: 6 mi w/ hills (8:20 pace)

Saturday: 8 mi (7:44 pace)

Sunday: 4 mi [at the track; 1/2 mi warm up, 4 x 800 (3:06, 3:06, 3:07, 3:08) w/ 400 jog in b/w, 1/2 mi cool down]
taught 1 hr Spin/TRX Combo class

TOTAL: 29 mi
