Our Best Christmas Yet

Without a doubt, this was our best Christmas together yet because Todd & I were able to celebrate Lucy's first Christmas.  It truly is such a special & magical time once you have a child to share it with.  We had a busy few days as we celebrated with both Todd's family and my family.

On Monday, we made the 3 hour drive up to Leetonia to spend a couple days with Todd's family.  It was also our very first overnight trip away from home with Lucy and I'm happy to report that, for the most part, she did great!  She was a little bit fussier than normal but that's to be expected with a lot of unfamiliar faces and new surroundings.  The good news is that she still slept almost 12 hours through the night like a champ.

After an outfit change, Lucy took a quick nap with Papa

On Monday evening, December 23, we exchanged presents with Todd's parents and his sister's family

She was more interested in her hands than in the presents

On Tuesday morning (Christmas Eve morning), we met Todd's grandma and some aunts, uncles, and cousins for breakfast.  We spent the rest of the day at his parent's house before the big Christmas Eve party.

We left the party to drive home a little before 9:00 PM and made it home shortly before midnight.  Lucy slept the majority of the ride home but she woke up once we got home and it took us another 30 minutes to get her back down.  We didn't go to bed until after 1:00 AM and were up early to get ready for Christmas morning mass with my parents.

Looks like Santa stopped by our house

Lucy was on the nice list and Santa was good to her

Todd had a few too

After we helped Lucy open her presents from Santa and Todd & I opened our presents from each other, we spent the rest of the day at my parent's house.

She is going to love her Beatles lullaby CD

Todd got a lot of drinkware including a couple Moscow mule cups

Lucy needed to take a nap halfway through opening presents

I was definitely more excited about a jogging stroller than Lucy was

One last family photo

Loving her new lamb pacifier

She also really enjoyed watching A Christmas Story marathon

Loved spending the past few days with friends & family, especially this pretty little girl
