Christmas Eve 2016

What a whirlwind of a holiday weekend it was but it always is for us!  Todd started his holiday break on Friday (the Honda factory shuts down between Christmas & New Year's so they also let the engineers that work in R&D also have the time off) & luckily I typically don't work on Fridays (otherwise I would've been at work) so we packed up the kids & car and headed up to visit Todd's family.  We arrived in the early afternoon and hung out (I might have snuck in short nap in....those 2:45 AM wake up calls last week for work finally hit me) before my sister-in-law's family came over for dinner and presents.

The presents just kept coming!

It's a miracle we didn't throw away any presents accidentally with how quickly the wrapping paper and boxes piled up

Lucky for us, the girls slept in on Christmas Eve morning so we didn't even get out of bed until after 7:30 AM.  We spent the day again just hanging out at my in-laws and helped get food ready for the big party that evening.  We went to Christmas Eve mass at 4:30 PM and when we got back to their house around 6:00 PM, the first guests were just arriving for the family party.  Lucy had a blast running around and playing with her cousins and Cece was pretty good for the most part considering she was up about 2 hours past her normal bed time and only took one long nap that day.  There were quite a few family members meeting her for the first time so she was being passed around quite a bit.  After Santa made his appearance, we quickly packed up, changed the girls into their pjs, and hit the road around 9:00 PM so we could get home before Santa arrived at our house.

Dressed up before Christmas Eve mass (you can't really tell but the girls had matching tutu dresses which were so cute)

Santa came!

Lucy jumped up right away when he came

Telling Santa that she had been a good girl

He even had a present for her

Cece's turn with Santa

And then both girls...

and then a family one since Todd was actually the one dressed up as Santa this year

We finally got home around midnight, got the girls to bed (they both slept the entire drive home), and then filled their stockings and set out presents under the tree; we were finally in bed between 1:30-2:00 AM

All ready for the girls to wake up on Christmas morning
