Park, Festival, Shopping, and a Party

Our weekend officially started once Cece & I picked Lucy up from preschool on Friday.  I had packed lunch for the girls and we drove to Grandview to have a picnic & to play at Wyman Woods Park.  It was a new-to-us park and so much fun!  They had this "elevator" that Lucy spent quite a bit of time riding down & since the surface of the playground was soft & squishy (basically not mulch which Cece would eat), Cece was able to crawl all around.  After spending a couple hours at the park, we drove over to the newly opened Sadie Baby Sweets to grab a quick treat before heading home.

I had brought a picnic blanket but Lucy wanted to sit at a table instead

We got there right when most people were leaving so we practically had the place to ourselves

Sweet girl!

Lots of pretty cake pops, chocolate covered oreos, pretzels, and rice krispie treats as well as flavored macaroons

Loved the gorgeous set up of the drink cart with complimentary pink lemonade

Once Todd was home from work on Friday, we headed over to St. Joan of Arc to check out our church's festival.  Since we didn't get there until after 6:30 PM, the first thing we did was grab a bite to eat and then Lucy was able to play some games, ride a couple rides, and I scoped out the bake sale.  Lucy won this huge blow up princess doll, which she calls Aurora because she's pink, and has carried this thing around the house non-stop since then.

and picking out a lucky duck

She was SO excited about winning this

Riding the train

And a dragon ride that went a lot faster than she thought it would; she looked terrified the first few times around and then finally cracked a smile...and of course afterwards she said it was so much fun and she wasn't scared at all

Going through the obstacle course

Todd had a free breakfast loaded onto his Chick-fil-A app so we figured Saturday morning was the perfect chance to go since they were also having a special Barnyard Breakfast event with a petting zoo, pony rides, and face painting.

First time to get her face painted and she picked a chicken (they only had farm animal options)

Todd had to work from home for a few hours so I took the girls over to Polaris to play and stop at a couple stores.  It was the first time I'd taken Cece since she's been crawling and she couldn't get enough of crawling through all the tunnels.  She literally would just go back and forth through a tunnel for 10 min before moving onto another one to crawl through.

She was pretty content just crawling through all the tunnels for about an hour

She also loved looking at all the animal faces

Lucy came over eventually and joined Cece in crawling

"I'm not tired, Mommy!"
2 minutes later:

In the late afternoon, we drove over to Easton to have dinner at Rusty Bucket and pick up a few new Homage shirts since they were having a buy one, get one 50% off sale.  We also let Lucy pick out an outfit for Cece's Build-A-Bear that she got back in November for her baptism.  Lucy already has an Aurora bear and Cece already has a Cinderella bear and it was driving Lucy crazy that this other bear didn't have an outfit so she picked out a Belle dress for her.  I'm assuming Cece is okay with Lucy picking out the dress!  We spent some time in American Girl too and eventually had to drag Lucy out of the store.

Got to Rusty Bucket early enough to get a seat outside on their patio right away

Cece was too busy eating to take a picture

Found a play tent to hang out inside

Sunday wasn't quite as busy as Friday and Saturday but we still managed to go to a birthday party/housewarming party that afternoon/early evening.  My friend, Dave, and his family just moved to a new house last month so they combined their son's 2nd birthday party with a housewarming party.  The kids played in the blow up pool and slip & slide as well as playing inside in the playroom.  They also grilled out and had some AMAZING birthday cake (which was from Costco and is making consider getting a membership just for the cake).  Word on the street is that their salsa is also to die for.

Is there any more cake?

Excited for a long weekend this weekend with Todd & the girls although I'm not sure of any exact plans yet!
