Memorial Day Weekend 2018 (Part 1)

We had an extra long weekend with Memorial Day tacked on to my normal 3 day weekend and crammed as much fun into it as we could...which is why I'm splitting this up into two posts.  Since it was the first Friday I was off work and Lucy didn't have school, there was no rush to wake the girls up to get ready so they slept in and Lucy didn't get up until 7:30 AM.  She immediately asked to go wake Cece up and climb into her crib and little did they know, I was watching them on the camera--they're just really sweet together!  After they were up and dressed, we walked to Tim Horton's for breakfast and then had to get back in time for our scheduled appointment with the carpet cleaners. I was so thankful that the weather was so warm on Friday because we were able to be outside while the carpets dried since they did most of our downstairs and the stairs.  The girls spent a good couple hours playing with the water table, inflatable pool, and sprinkler.  They even ate lunch and their afternoon snack outside---seriously, this is why I love warm weather!  There are so many more options of things to do with kids!  Friday night was pretty low-key because Todd had his first daddy-daughter dance practice for Lucy's upcoming recital.

The girls on Friday morning in Cece's crib (the time is an hour off on our camera--we never change it with the time changes)

Both girls picked out sprinkled donuts

Going right for the sprinkles!

Attempted to get both girls in the picture

She just looks so sweet & innocent here

With my big girl

Outside playing by 10:00 AM

I love how Cece was giggling anytime they'd splash in the water

The water was a little chilly at first but it warmed up quickly in the sun

Again, giggling while splashing

Next, they moved on to the sprinkler

Lucy wanted to hold hands with Cece and walk through the sprinkler together

Tried to get them in the shade as much as I could during lunch

A few hours later, they were back out there to cool off with ice cream sandwiches

Gotcha!

Saturday was a busy day as well!  We had 2 birthday parties and Lucy & Todd had daddy-daughter dance practice (the dads do a dance together and then the dads & daughters do a dance together so Todd has to learn 2 dances and Lucy only has to learn one).  Everyone was pretty exhausted by Saturday night so Todd & I had a date night in and he picked up some Greek food while we watched The Greatest Showman.

The first birthday party of the day was for one of Lucy's friends; it was a tea party with Alice in Wonderland

Book club friends

The second birthday party was for our friends' son who was turning 2

They had a bunch of toys outside set up for the kids

Failed attempt at a kid picture

More outdoor fun
