Sweet-Filled Weekend

It was our last full weekend at home before Christmas and we were busy baking and eating sweet treats!  On Friday, the girls & I spent part of our day making sugar cookies which we were going to ice & decorate on Sunday.  We went to our church's Christmas festival for kids on Friday evening and on Saturday, Todd had class all day, so we invited some friends over to make gingerbread houses.  We knocked a few more things off our to-do list as well, like wrapping most of the Christmas presents on Saturday night before we ran out of tape, and are pretty much ready for Christmas!

Aprons on and ready to make cookies!

The girls had fun using the cookie cutters

They also did a pretty good job of taking turns

Still going strong

Had to bust out the selfie stick so I could get in a picture too

I think we made close to 3 dozen

And of course there was cookie decorating!

Pretty sure she was on a sugar high all weekend

Supplies for the gingerbread houses; Lucy had picked out all the candy she wanted to use at the grocery store last week

Lynn brought Olive & Brody over to join in the fun

They turned out pretty good...although Cece had already taken hers apart to start eating it

Once Todd was home from class on Saturday, we drove to a local church to see their live nativity with real animals; you drove through and they had different scenes set up, it was pretty impressive!

On Sunday, we decorated the cookies we made on Friday

No surprise that Cece was all about the sprinkles...

and I love that both Todd & my dad immediately reached over to stop her from pouring the entire container on the cookie

Back to icing them
