Snowy Weekend

Well, we made it until mid-January without any major snow (which is pretty good for Ohio) but this past weekend, we ended up getting about 4 inches of snow.  I really didn't mind the snow this weekend because 1.) the girls were excited that we finally got some so they could go build a snowman and 2.) it happened on a weekend and not during the work week when traffic is significantly worse.

The weather was fine on Friday, although cold, so after stopping at my work with the girls so Lucy could sell Girl Scout cookies to my coworkers, we went to nearby Tree of Life Play + Cafe so they could play for a little bit.  Todd had class all day on Saturday and with the snow getting worse throughout the day, we stayed at home after going to lunch at Krema Nut Company (always a favorite for us!).  On Sunday, after subbing a SpinCore class, Todd & I finally bundled the girls up to play outside.  Lucy was really into shoveling the snow (let's hope that continues for a long time) and Cece was just walking around in the snow saying that it was "crunchy."  Todd helped us build a HUGE snowman (it was just as tall as me!) and after about an hour outside, they were ready to come back in to warm up.  We spent the rest of Sunday relaxing inside and watching a movie together.

Cece "playing soccer"

She would only jump on the trampoline if she was on it by herself; I think she was scared when other kids would get on it because she'd fall down

On Friday afternoon when Cece was napping, Lucy worked on her math computer program that her Kindergarten teacher recommended they do

After dinner on Friday, we went to Menchie's for frozen yogurt

All smiles for candy and fro-yo

Cece requested pigtail braids on Saturday--her first ones!

Lunch at one of our favorite local spots, Krema Nut Company

We all split a Nutty Mallow and Buckeye sandwich

The girls split a buckeye milkshake

We went at a good time because it wasn't crowded at all (plus, I'm sure the fact that it had started to snow also helped)

Always love lunch dates with the girls

We got our new TV delivered last week (of course, the timing wasn't the best because Todd ordered it a week before our furnace went out so that will be a fun credit card bill to pay in a couple weeks) and I didn't believe Todd that the picture quality was that much better so he had to prove me wrong and plug in our old one for a side by side comparison on Saturday night

On Sunday, we finally ventured outside to check out the snow and Lucy helped Todd shovel the driveway (she also proceeded to shovel our back porch)

Cece was content just walking around the yard

Todd started building the bottom portion of our snowman and he just couldn't stop himself and kept making it bigger and bigger

We've had a snowman kit for years that we always forget to use so Todd was happy to finally use it on Sunday; Cece placed the carrot for his nose

Lucy worked on his buttons

Finished!

I wanted to get in a picture just for comparison to see how tall the snowman actually was
