Feeling Like Summer!

With school ending this week and some hot weather over the weekend, it definitely feels like summer arrived!  We started off the weekend meeting some friends at another touch-a-truck event and playing outside on Friday.

They always love getting on the school bus at any touch-a-truck event

Meeting Skye from Paw Patrol

After dinner on Friday night, we went outside for a walk--Lucy ended up riding her bike and Cece ran (yes, ran!) right behind her the entire way

While Todd did some work on Cece's new bedroom, I took the girls with me to the Y on Saturday morning.  In the early afternoon, Todd & Lucy had their first daddy-daughter dance practice (Todd had his first daddy-only practice on Friday evening) and once they were home, we immediately packed up and headed to Zoombezi Bay for opening day.  It was pretty crowded but the girls were giddy to finally go.  They've been asking for weeks now when they could go.  We could only stay for a couple hours before heading home so Todd & I could get ready for our date night he planned to celebrate my birthday.  We started off with drinks at the newest rooftop bar in Columbus, Lincoln Social, and then had dinner just a couple blocks down at Marcella's.

It was crowded but we were still able to find a few chairs together by the little kid area so while Todd & I were laying out towels, the girls found this small sanded area to play in

Cece was really hesitant at first to go down the slides so we had Lucy go with her so she wouldn't be as nervous

Heading out for our date night

Pretty sure every person that has been to Lincoln Social has taken a picture like this

Todd got a mojito while I enjoyed a glass of wine

It rained for a couple minutes which cleared the patio portion out and made way for a gorgeous picture of this rainbow across the sky

We also lucked out when it was raining and snagged a seat at a table for a couple minutes until the rain passed

We enjoyed drinks and our favorite appetizer when we got to Marcella's

I even got a piece of cake to top off the night and my birthday celebration (this cake was so good and the almond cake layers were amazing!)

On Sunday, Todd again got some more work done on Cece's room (the goal is to get her in there in June...fingers crossed!), I taught a fundraiser class at Shred415 for Pelotonia, and Lucy had her last Girl Scout event of the year where she learned about bees and beekeeping.  She's had a really great time in Girl Scouts and has made some good friends. I'm glad she encouraged me to take her to the initial meeting back at the beginning of the school year!

Loved teaching this group--most of them were newbies to Shred which is always fun!
