Grilling Out

I've been slacking a little bit this week with blogging but I've also been really busy with work and teaching boot camp. Since I teach boot camp Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday night, my only night during the work week to relax and get stuff done is Tuesday night, but unfortunately this week, I had to go back to work for a few hours in the evening. I've mentioned how I have to go to work at 4:00 am about once or twice a month to fitness test the 3rd shift police officers. Well, I also have to go back to work once or twice a month at 7:00 pm for a few hours to fitness test 2nd shift police officers.

Yesterday afternoon, we had great weather in Columbus with the temperature being around 80 degrees. I went over to Todd's new apartment last night so we could take advantage of the nice weather and grill out for dinner. We weren't really sure what we were in the mood for because we had had salmon the night before. We headed to the grocery store and right away when I saw the pre-made kabobs at the meat counter, I knew that's what I wanted. Since they seemed a bit overpriced, I figured Todd & I could make them ourselves. We bought some chicken, green peppers, onions, zucchini, and mushrooms. They were very simple to make and it didn't take that long to grill either.

We made half with barbecue sauce and the other half with Italian dressing

We also added a bit more sauce while they were on the grill along with a dash of salt & pepper Our kabobs along with a salad

Unfortunately, it started to get really windy outside by the time we were ready to eat so we headed inside instead. It figures that after we've had some beautiful weather in the 80s during the work week, it dropped to only 50 degrees today. That's typical Ohio weather for ya!
