Even though I wasn't able to run to the Cap City 1/2 Marathon last weekend, I still have plenty of races this year to look forward to! As of now, my goal races for the rest of the year will be the Rock 'n Roll 1/2 Marathon in Chicago on July 22 and the Akron Marathon on September 29. Of course, I have a tendency to change my mind quite a bit so we'll see how I'm feeling this summer.
I have 11 weeks until the 1/2 in Chicago and once school is out for the local schools, I plan on heading to the middle school track near our house in the mornings at least 1x/week for speedwork. This is where I always lack in my training (well that & high mileage) and I will actually do it this year so I can have a strong race season.
Races for Summer/Fall 2012:
June 15: Run for the Rainbow 5K in Columbus (New Albany)
July 22: Rock 'n Roll 1/2 in Chicago
September 29: Akron Marathon in Akron
November 4: ING New York City Marathon in NYC
Depending on how my body is feeling, I might also run either the Emerald City 1/2 Marathon on August 26 (before the Akron Marathon) or the Columbus 1/2 Marathon on October 21 (2 weeks before NYC marathon).
As for my latest gear, I scored an awesome deal on my Asics Nimbus shoes at the Cap City expo last weekend. The newer model is hitting stores soon so they were selling the older model for $70 which is a steal because I found out they're raising the price of the newer models to $140!!
Plan on breaking these in mid-summer...I still have a few hundred miles left on my other 2 pairs that I alternate between

I'm obsessed with running in the lululemon Cool Racerback and just got this color, Flash, in San Francisco and love how it's so bright & fun
Any other good races in the Columbus area or nearby that I should run this summer/fall?
