Even though it's not June 20 yet, in my book, it's officially summer. Yes, we've had a few 90 degree days so it certainly feels like it but it seems like it's summer when our weekends are booked solid. Between cookouts, weddings, local festivals, and Clippers games, the weeks just seem to fly by and the weekends even more so.
This past weekend was the last weekend until August (yes, AUGUST!) that Todd & I don't have a darn thing planned. We were able to spend a few hours at Zoombezi Bay (and even saw Jack Hanna) before tackling more yard work. I can't believe I'm actually saying this but it feels really rewarding to pull weeds, plant flowers, and mulch because you're able to see all your hard work pay off when the neighbors stop over and tell you that they've never seen the yard look so nice. Big pat on the back for us on that one!
Jack Hanna walking just a few feet away from us...I wanted a picture with him but thought it might be awkward since I was in a bikini
Let's do a run down of our summer weekend plans, shall we? This starts next weekend and doesn't end until the last weekend in September. As of now, we have 2 open weekends in August and 1 in September with nothing planned and I'm sure that will change in a matter of weeks.
- 5 weddings (4 of them are within a 5 week period and 3 are out of town)
- 2 family reunions (both out of town)
- Housewarming party/cookout at our new house
- Couples shower
- Bachelorette party (out of town)
- Chicago for the Rock n' Roll 1/2 Marathon
- Akron Marathon
- 1st Anniversary Trip to Savannah, GA
So yeah, looks like we're gonna be kinda busy....
