On Saturday, I hosted a baby shower for my good friend, Megan. Megan and her husband, Brian, are expecting their first child, a baby girl, on December 21 and I was so thrilled to be able to host her shower. I had spent the past few months scouring Pinterest and the internet for ideas and when I had free time at home, I would start putting together some of the decorations. I had a lot of help with the food which was a huge relief since that was what I was most stressed out about early on in the planning stages. Megan's mom did all the desserts and a few other girls helped with the majority of the other food. It was a decent sized shower with 35 guests and as you can tell from the pictures below, it was a pink and brown theme.
Walking in the front door, I had set up a table with the White Chocolate Popcorn with M&Ms favors and a children's book, Guess How Much I Love You, that guests could sign as a guestbook
In the dining room, there were 2 tables with food; one with chicken salad sandwiches, dips, and side dishes....
and the other table had desserts, which included cupcakes, cake, chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered marshmellows, and pumpkin dip

Cupcake tower
Tub filled with bottled water (I used scrapbook paper for the labels) and plastic french milk bottles with pink lemonade and chocolate milk (this, along with the stripey straws, were some of my favorite details that tied the pink & brown theme together)
I had other drinks set up in the kitchen as well as more chocolate covered marshmellow
We played one game during the shower, which I had set up on the bar that looks from the great room into the kitchen; guests had to guess what was in each baby food jar without opening the jar and the winner won a pink or brown mug with a Starbucks gift card. No one guessed all 6 correctly!
We also had Mad Libs set up on the coffee table for people to fill out at their leisure
Tissue poms hanging on the ceiling fan in the great room
A view of the presents starting to pile up as well as the onesie banner and frames on the mantle where I swapped out wedding photos for scrapbook paper (it matched the labels on the bottled water)
Another view once more guests and presents arrived

All in all, it was a huge success! I received lots of compliments (which I can't take all the credit for since some of the other girls helped with food) and I know Megan had a great time.
