This past weekend was hands down one of the best weekends with Lucy and I can only hope that every weekend this summer will be similar! The weather was absolutely perfect and we had so much fun experiencing a few "firsts" with her.
We started off Saturday morning by trying to mulch as much as our yard as we could before having to get ready to go see the Book of Mormon at the Ohio Theatre. My parents had bought us tickets for Christmas and offered to watch Lucy while we had an afternoon date. I felt so spoiled that we already had another date after our dinner date last weekend.

While we were enjoying our show (which was funny & quite vulgar!), my parents took Lucy to the Columbus Zoo to see the new Heart of Africa exhibit. She loved it and I can't wait to check it out with her.

She also saw some flamingos
My dad captured Lucy's reaction when she saw Todd & I walk in the front door....so excited!

On Sunday morning, we got up and ready so we could head to church. Our goal this year has been to make it to mass once a month and I'm actually proud to say that we're 5 for 5 so far! Maybe next year we'll work on twice a month.

After church, we ran a bunch of errands and Lucy was such a trooper. We stopped for sandwiches at Which Wich and then spent the rest of the afternoon outside in the yard finishing mulching (25 bags total!) and Todd also installed our new storm door. It was a busy day of work but we knew we had Memorial Day off to relax and have some fun.

We bought Lucy a pop-up tent so she could play in the shade in the backyard while we were working. She was loving it under there and was quite content for the couple hours we were out there.
We started our holiday off on Monday by walking down to the Powell Parade. My dad also joined us which was nice. It was Lucy's first parade and she was clapping and squealing throughout most of it.

After a nap (for Lucy) and lunch, we ventured back out into the sun and took Lucy to the pool for the first time. My parents just joined Wedgewood Country Club so we were able to be their guests. Luckily, we just signed Lucy up for swim lessons because she was LOVING the pool! She didn't stop splashing around the entire time we were there.

I cannot wait for more summer weekends like this one! I was telling Todd that when we found out we were pregnant, these were all the things I was excited to do with our kids---swimming, going to parades, going to the zoo, etc. and I know there will be plenty more summer fun in the next couple months!
