My 1st Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was pretty low-key but perfect as I spent the day with Todd & Lucy and my parents.  My only disappointment for the day was when I woke up that morning and my back was still really stiff and tight.  I was hoping to get a decent run in of 6-8 miles but only managed 4 miles before I felt like I needed to stop.

Before our normal Sunday morning grocery store trip, Todd & Lucy surprised me with a Mother's Day gift.  Since my birthday is this week, I had already mentioned to Todd not to get me anything because I knew we'd be going out for my birthday.

She loves cards just like her mommy

Lucy got me this nice floating picture frame that we can hang in our bedroom with pictures of her

In the late morning, my parents came over and we headed downtown to take them out for brunch at Milestone 229.  Todd & I have eaten here a couple times but only for dinner when it's dark out.  It was really nice to see the restaurant and the gorgeous surroundings in the daylight.

This drink (champagne, pineapple infused vodka, and strawberry puree), despite being a bit strong, was delicious!  And shockingly, I was the only one who ordered a drink...I think this was a first

I got the Belgium waffles and a cheddar biscuit on the side....I highly recommend both

I couldn't love these 2 more!

After brunch, we headed back home for a few hours to get some things done around the house and when we saw the weather ended up being much nicer than expected, we decided to go to the zoo for a little bit.

The only animals she could really see from her stroller were the fish in the aquarium and she loved them!

We ended the day with a fancy dinner of Raising Cane's at home.  It was such a wonderful day and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

I'm so glad you had a good first Mother's Day! I have heard great things about where you went to eat--we will have to try it out. That waffle looks amazing!!
