Lucy at 10 Months

10 Months on July 29, 2014

Another big month for Lucy!  She is now crawling, pulling herself up and standing, and cutting more teeth.  She started the month off by learning to drag herself across the floor on her belly and then after a couple weeks figured out how to actually stay up on all fours and crawl.  Around the same time, she also started pulling herself up consistently on the coffee table, in her crib, etc. She has even taken some steps while standing and holding on.  She also has 2 teeth on the bottom.  Her first tooth came in last month and then I noticed her second one starting to cut through one day.  I honestly didn't even know she was teething because she didn't act any differently and never woke up at night.  I'm hoping she's like this for the rest of them that come in.  Speaking of which, it's hard to tell but I think one of her top teeth might be cutting through soon too.

We've been trying to teach her sign language for about 4-5 months now and she can finally sign "milk" and "more" although not as consistently as we'd like.

These months are starting to fly by and I can't believe she'll be 1 in just two months!

Weight: No idea, probably a little over 18 pounds (She was 17 lbs 13 oz on July 1, 2014 at her 9 month appt)

Length: No idea, probably a little over 29 inches (She was 28.5 inches on July 1, 2014 at her 9 month appt)

Clothes: We are using the last pack of size 2 diapers so she'll be switching to size 3 in the next few days.  She's also wearing a combination of 9 month and 12 month clothes.  Her feet finally grew recently too and she can now wear size 2 shoes!  I was pretty excited because the majority of the shoes she has are either size 2 or 3 so she really hasn't been able to wear any of her cute ones yet.

Eating:  Lucy tried mandarin oranges, rice, green beans, asparagus, baked beans, kiwi, and pierogies this month.  She's still loving any food we give her which makes life a lot easier.  I have almost completely weaned Lucy and she's down to just one nursing session before bed but I'm hoping to drop that one in the next few days.  Like I've said before, I have enough of a freezer stash to last until her first birthday so I guess I can say that she will be on breast milk for 1 year!  I never thought I'd make it that long and am actually proud of myself for sticking with it, it was no easy task!  We've also transitioned her from bottles to sippy cups so she gets milk in her sippy cup for all meals and her snack.  She eats breakfast around 8:00 AM, lunch around noon, a snack after her afternoon nap around 4:30 PM, and we eat dinner at 6:30 PM.

Sleeping:  Nothing new to report in the sleeping department.  Lucy still takes 2 naps/day, typically around 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM with each lasting anywhere from 1-2 hours.  She goes to bed between 7:30-8:00 PM and will sleep until 7:00-7:30 AM.

Likes: Giving "kisses", pulling up and standing, stacking her toys, being outside, cottage cheese, pulling her bib off, being on the move

Dislikes: Not eating when other people are eating, when she tries to pull her bib off and can't get it, sitting still

Milestones: First 4th of July (July 4), second tooth (noticed it cutting through on July 7), first baseball game (July 7), pulled herself up to stand consistently (starting on July 18), start crawling consistently instead of dragging herself (week of July 20)
