The big news this month was Lucy's first tooth popped through! I started to notice something sharp on her bottom gums when I felt around a few weeks ago and sure enough, within a few days, we saw a small sliver of her tooth cutting through. I was worried how Lucy would act but honestly, she was great! She had a low-grade fever for a couple days, seemed to nap a bit longer during the day, and we only had 2 nights that she woke up crying. She cried a bit here and there during those two nights but would fall back asleep on her own within a minute or so and then both nights around 4:00 AM, we had to go in and rock her back to sleep. If that was the worst of it, I'll take it! It was much better than I expected...knock on wood that it goes this well when her next tooth comes in.
Lucy is so close to crawling! Just in the past week, she's figured out how to get up on all fours and will rock for a few seconds before falling onto her stomach. She is now able sit up from laying down and she even pulled herself up from sitting to standing a few times. We had to lower her crib the other day too because she's now sitting up in it (which startled me the first time she was up from her nap and I walked in and she was sitting up) and is even pulling herself up. Even though she isn't crawling yet, she's figured out how to roll around to get to where she wants to be. It's pretty entertaining to watch her roll from one side of the room to the other in the span of a few seconds.
She also had swim lessons this month. We went twice/week for 4 weeks (so 8 lessons total) and she seemed to really like being in the water. She also didn't mind going underwater either.
This month, Lucy also learned how to play peek-a-boo and she learned to put her hands up when we'd say, "How big is Lucy? Soooo big!"
Weight: 17 lbs. 13 oz. on July 1, 2014 at her 9 month appointment (31st percentile)
Length: 28.5 in. on July 1, 2014 at her 9 month appointment (81st percentile)
Clothes: She's wearing 9 & 12 month clothes but is quickly outgrowing most of her 9 month stuff. She's also still in size 2 diapers.
Eating: Lucy tried mashed potatoes, meatballs, pancakes, watermelon, Cheerios, blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, grapes, elbow macaroni noodles, veggie burgers, and waffles this month. If there's one thing I know about our girl it's that she loves to eat! (hmmm...wonder where she got that from?) She still hasn't refused any kind of food that we've given her so I'm hoping we won't end up with a picky eater on our hands. She's down to nursing twice/day (once first thing in the morning and once right before bed) as well as taking a bottle in the late morning. I have enough stored milk in our deep freezer so that I don't have to pump anymore at work. The only time I do have to still pump are on the mornings when I teach at the gym because Todd gets Lucy up and takes her to my mom's that day so instead of nursing her, I pump while I'm getting ready for work. Twice a week though is much better than the 12-14 times/week I was having to do it. Lucy is also eating 3 meals/day plus a snack. She eats breakfast around 7:45-8:00 AM, lunch around 12:00-12:30 PM, a snack around 4:00-4:30 PM, and dinner is around 6:30 PM.
Sleeping: Still continues to be an awesome little sleeper! She takes 2 naps/day that are around 1.5-2 hours with her first one being around 9:00 AM and her second one around 2:00 PM. I used to have to her rock her before her naps but now I can just lay her in her crib and she'll fall asleep on her own within 5 minutes. She goes to bed around 7:30 PM and sleeps through the night until she gets up around 6:30 AM. We had a couple nights this month that she woke up due to teething and one night where we she was wide awake from midnight until 3:00 AM which was just totally odd (she was literally sitting in my lap and clapping like it was the middle of the day) but other than that, it's been smooth sailing. We feel so lucky that Lucy has been such a great sleeper. I've talked to a few other moms recently and it blows my mind that their babies (who are around the same age) are still waking up every night.
Likes: eating, being outside, stacking her toys, rolling
Dislikes: being left alone, having her diaper changed, sitting still, having her hands & face wiped off
Milestones: First swim lesson (June 2), first visit to a National Park (June 14), first Father's Day celebration (June 15), first time sitting up from laying down (June 28), first tooth (mid June)

She's so cute. Definitely a good eater...I hope she keeps it up for you.
What a sweetheart!! She's such a great eater- I hope she keeps it up! We've been having food issues over the last 2 months- so much pickiness suddenly
