Todd's family & some extended family come to Columbus to tailgate for the Ohio State-Michigan football game on the years that they play here. Since that game is always the last game of the regular season, it falls around Thanksgiving so we're able to spend Thanksgiving with my family and then spend the rest of the long weekend with his family.
They all came on Friday in the late afternoon so we had everyone over for dinner after they checked into their hotel. Todd & I had made meatballs the weekend before and served meatball subs, salad, Broccoli, Grape, & Pecan Pasta Salad, and cooked up some fries in the deep fryer. I also made Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Caramel Filled Cookies for dessert which were very filling but delicious! It seemed like everyone had a good time and we were happy to host. I know Lucy had a blast hanging out with her two cousins!

Todd was up very early on Saturday (as in 3:45 AM!) to meet his family at their hotel and get down to get a spot for tailgating by 5:00 AM. I was kind of glad I didn't have to go down as early this year since I didn't think it was necessary to have Lucy there that early. I let Lucy take her morning nap at home and then we went down to campus right as the game was starting at noon. I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't seem as cold as in years' past and stayed pretty warm in the tent.
From the outside, you would never guess there was a flat screen TV, two tables of food, a heater, and about 15 people inside
We tailgate by the AgEd buildings which is right across from the stadium....at times you could hear people cheering that OSU scored before we actually saw the touchdown on TV
Lots of food!

Todd's mom was smart to bring a small square of carpet for the kids to play on

Kinda love Lucy's cute onesie

Bundled up after the game once we tore down the tents and put the heater away
It was a long day, especially for Lucy since she skipped her afternoon nap, but it was really fun (probably because I wasn't freezing this year!).
On Sunday, we went to lunch at BJ's Brewhouse with Todd's parents and his sister's family before they drove home. I had to include this adorable picture of Lucy & Audrey wearing their matching Christmas tree shirts that Todd's mom made.
So cute!
And the best one I could get with all 3 cousins

i think it's so funny that people come to campus to watch the game inside tents. :)
and yes, it was so much warmer this year than i'd imagined it would be.
