We had a really nice, low-key (but busy if that's possible?) weekend and now that the temperature is finally above freezing on a consistent basis, I'm itching for the hot, summer weekends to get here.
I was up early on Saturday morning to go to a Clocked class at System of Strength and I got home just as Lucy was finishing up her breakfast. I got ready quickly and then Todd, Lucy, and I drove over to the Polaris Mall for some playing (Lucy) and shopping (me). We had to make a quick detour at Chick-fil-A for Todd's free iced coffee and then to Krispy Kreme for 2 free donuts. I haven't had a donut in quite awhile and have really been craving them recently. I'm hoping a trip down to The Little Donut Shop is in our future.

Just last week they reopened the kids' play area at the Polaris Mall after closing it for a few weeks for an updated look. We got to the mall right when it opened at 10:00 AM, hoping it wouldn't be too crowded, but it was packed. I didn't realize that the mall actually opens earlier than 10:00 AM, it's the stores that don't actually open until 10:00 AM. Anyways, Lucy had a great time running around and going down the slide repeatedly for about 45 minutes. I was then able to do some shopping for myself and Lucy (she needed some new tennis shoes and I can't believe she's wearing a 5.5 already!)

About to go down the slide
She would go down this way every single time....she'd climb up the stairs, turn around, and slide down backwards on her belly

Taking a break
Once we got home, had lunch, and Lucy was down for her nap, Todd went outside to do some "spring cleaning" in the yard. He trimmed back the hydrangea bushes and some of the other bushes in our backyard and messed with some of the down spouts on our house. While Todd did that, I was inside emptying our pantry. It was a complete mess so I tried to reorganize everything for the time being while we decide on which sliding drawers to get installed (which will make my life so much easier).
It might not look organized but trust me, it's a lot better than it was
The Dayton basketball game was on a channel that we don't get on our cable package so for dinner, we went to Champp's and enjoyed some yummy sandwiches and basketball.
Me & Lucy
Chicken salad sandwich for Todd, Chicken Parmesan Sandwich for me, and Mac & Cheese for Lucy
Her kids' meal came with an ice cream sundae so she enjoyed the whipped cream while Todd & I ate most of it
Trying to lick off every last bite
We went to church on Sunday morning & then dropped Lucy off at my parents' so my dad could play with her while Todd & I went grocery shopping. Once we were home, we had lunch, I made some snacks/dessert for the week, and Todd worked in the garage. He installed his work light on the ceiling and put together his new grill he got for Christmas. We ended the afternoon with a nice walk outside & watched the NCAA tournament selection show while having pizza for dinner.
Happy girl
My "food prep" for the week consisted of baked oatmeal & brown sugar blondies
