Cecelia at 6 Months

6 Months on January 18, 2016

While Cece still hasn't rolled over yet (she rolls to her side & sleeps on her side but it's like she gets stuck on her shoulder or arm or something), she has come a long way this month in interacting with us.  She loves bouncing in her jumperoo and lunging forward while she's sitting to get toys in front of her.  She'll even reach over and grab her pacifier and put it in her mouth and she's managed to feed herself with her spoon too.  I know I say this every month but she's just so smiley and happy 90% of the time and is so laid back and chill.  When Lucy has ballet, Cece is very content just sitting quietly on my lap and looking around for the 40 min that Lucy is dancing.  She definitely makes it really easy to go places!

Weight: 14 lbs. 5 oz. on January 20, 2017 (18th percentile)

Length: 26.25 in. on January 20, 2017 (71st percentile)

Clothes: Still wearing a few 3 month outfits but mainly 3-6 and 6 month clothes as well as size 2 diapers.

Eating: This was her last full month of only having breast milk as we started adding in some baby food (purees) a couple weeks ago.  It took her about a week or so to figure out what to do with it in her mouth besides spit it out but she finally got the hang of swallowing the food and now gets so excited to eat.  She's had sweet potatoes, green beans, applesauce, and banana purees.  She nurses or takes a bottle (~7-8 oz) 4 times/day.

Sleeping: Cece has been getting much better this month about taking a longer, consistent morning nap (usually around 9:30/10:00 AM) and while she will sleep anywhere from 1/2 hour to 1.5 hours, it seems like it's typically closer to 1-1.5 hours.  Her afternoon nap (usually around 2:00 PM) is always her longer nap and is usually 1.5-2 hours long.  She definitely is ready for bed by 7:00 PM most nights and will sleep straight through the night until 6:30-7:00 AM.

Likes: being tickled, eating, her pacifier, putting everything in her mouth,

Dislikes: being put in the car seat (although once she's in she's usually fine)

Milestones: First Christmas, first time in high chair, first New Year's Eve/Day, first time eating solid foods
