Cecelia at 7 Months

7 months on February 18, 2017

Cece had a big month!  She not only started to sit up on her own but she also (finally) rolled over both directions and got her first tooth!  At the beginning of the month, she would sit up on her own for a few seconds and then would fall over or lean back against us if we were sitting behind her.  One day though, it must've just clicked because I had some toys in front of her and she sat there for like 10-15 minutes playing with them.  I was shocked but that's the neat thing with babies, so much can change with them in just a few days.  Speaking of which, when I was feeding her breakfast about a week ago, I thought I saw a glimpse of a tooth and sure enough when I put my finger in her mouth to feel around, she had a little sharp point on her bottom gums.  Her first tooth popped through and we seriously had no idea!  She didn't act any fussier or wake up at night crying so fingers crossed she'll be an easy baby when it comes to teething.  Lucy was late getting teeth as a baby (she didn't get her first one until around 9 months) so I honestly wasn't expecting to see one from Cece this early on.  She also started rolling over this month and while it doesn't happen all the time yet (we think she gets lazy sometimes ha!), she definitely knows how to do it.

Weight: Probably around 15 lbs. (She was 14 lbs. 5 oz. on January 20, 2017 at her 6 month apt)

Length: No idea (She was 26.25 in. on January 20, 2017 at her 6 month appt)

Clothes: Pretty much wearing all 6 months clothes still, some 3-6 month outfits/onesies, and a few 9 month sleepers.  She's still wearing size 2 diapers.

Eating: Cece has been eating solids for over a month now and is doing great!  In fact, she's just like her big sister, Lucy, and we haven't found a food she doesn't like yet.  We're doing a combination of purees that we spoon feed her and steamed food that she can "feed" herself and get used to chewing.  We buy the gerber baby food purees and the new flavors she's tried this month are pears, carrots, prunes, peaches, squash, and pears & cinnamon with oatmeal.  She's also had avocado and steamed pears and apples as well as puffs and mum mums.  She's eating 3 meals/day (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and is either nursing or taking a bottle (when I'm at work) 3-4x/day with the bottles being around 6 oz although I think we might drop that down to 5 oz this week because we've had some issues with spitting up again.  Cece's also tried to use a sippy cup and it seems like she knows what to do with it but I think she doesn't like that we have water in it instead of milk so she really isn't using a sippy cup yet.

Sleeping: Our only big sleep struggle with Cece has been her taking a morning nap at my parents' house.  She would go days without napping until the afternoon and we finally discovered that it's because at home we always have her in the sleep sack to sleep.  After we bought an extra one for my parents' house, she started taking 1.5 hour naps again.  She also takes about a 1.5-2 hour nap in the afternoon.  Cece goes down for the evening typically around 7:30 PM and will sleep straight through the night (with the occasional wake up if she can't find her pacifier) until 6:30-7:00 AM.

Likes: Pulling hair, waving, playing with the toy vanity/mirror

Dislikes: Having her face or nose wiped/cleaned off, being tired

Milestones: Rolled from back to belly for the 1st time (January 22), rolled from belly to back for the 1st time (February 1), first tooth popped through (February 10), started waving and clapping, first Valentine's Day, first time sitting in the stroller (February 18)
