Memorial Day 2017

I don't know how we luck out but it seems like we always get beautiful weather on Memorial Day which is perfect for our city's annual Memorial Day parade.  I got the girls dressed in their matching outfits (Cece's outfit is actually a hand me down from Lucy so all I had to buy was some star shorts for Lucy and the red headbands) and we all walked from our house to downtown Powell to find a spot along the parade route.  One of my coworkers was also there so we hung out with her and her little boy for a bit before anxiously awaiting for the parade to start.  Right before it started, Lynn, Nathan, Olive, and Brody showed up so the girls hung out while Todd & I enjoyed some adult company.  The babies hung out in their strollers most of the time to keep from getting too much sun.  I always love this parade because it has that small town feel and it's nice to run into neighbors there too.

By some miracle, both Lucy & Cece slept until almost 8:00 AM on Monday so we knew we couldn't get Cece down for a morning nap before the parade and she ended up falling asleep in the stroller instead

She woke up in time to see part of the parade

We didn't bring the double stroller so after walking a mile to the parade and then standing for over an hour during it, Lucy's little legs were tired so she sat on the front of our single Bob stroller for the walk back home (obviously, snacks are a must when in the stroller)

Like I said, we usually get really nice weather on Memorial Day so we kept with tradition and also made our first trip to Zoombezi Bay for the season.  As of now, this still seems like the best deal for us since we get the gold passes which includes both the zoo and Zoombezi Bay membership as well as all the extra rides/attractions (giraffe feedings, camel rides, train, carousel, etc.)  It usually pays for itself within a few visits and Lucy loves the little slides, wave pool, and lazy river.  This was Cece's 2nd time to Zoombezi Bay but she was only a couple weeks old last summer when we brought her for the first time and she slept the whole time.  This trip though she was able to splash in the zero entry pool at the Tiny Tides area and then we took a ride around the lazy river.  We stayed for a couple hours before heading home in the mid-afternoon for naps, more yard work, and grilling out for dinner.

Lucy got goggles for Easter from MaMa & PaPa and insisted on trying them out at Zoombezi Bay

She quickly realized she didn't need them when the water is only about 2 feet deep

Cece & I spent the majority of the time splashing and watching Lucy go down slides
