First Weekend in February

Now that it's February, we're that much closer to warmer weather which can never come soon enough.  With young kids, it's so much harder to keep them entertained when we're stuck inside all day & I'm already dreaming of the days of playing outside.  It's a bit challenging to do things to inside that are appropriate for both Lucy (a 4 year old) and Cece (an 18 month old).  I really want to go ice skating or to an indoor trampoline park but unfortunately, Cece isn't big or old enough to do these things with.  Todd or I could always take Lucy while Cece is napping but then that means Todd & I don't get to spend time together which is hard since we already don't see each other much during the week.

Anyways, this past weekend we decided to go to COSI  (the first time Cece has gone since she's been walking consistently) & the North Market on Saturday.   We also attempted to go Giordano's for dinner & while we figured there'd be a wait, we weren't expecting an 1.5 hour wait at 5:15 PM!  We thought we were on top of it by getting there early but I guess not.  We ended up going to Rusty Bucket instead.  On Sunday, we were having friends over for the Super Bowl so I spent a good chunk of the day getting food ready & cleaning....oh, and I had a Spinning meeting at the studio I teach at.

While Lucy was at preschool on Friday morning, I took Cece to the Y; after picking her up at the child care, she made a beeline over to the pool to watch people swim

This toy has been a big hit & she's plays with it quite bit

I was dying that she climbed up on the couch and then laid down on her belly; such a big kid thing to do!

Lucy spent most of Friday afternoon dressed up as Glinda the Good Witch from The Wizard of Oz

Now that Cece is walking, all she does is follow Lucy around and copy everything she does; luckily, Lucy isn't annoyed by this yet so they played together well at COSI

"Riding" a horse

Climbing wall

Cheesin' at the North Market

I tried a Margherita pretzel from Brezel

Lucy got a pretzel stick (we usually pack a lunch for the girls)

and Todd got pierogies & a giant sauerkraut ball

It was pretty crowded on Saturday & we were pushing it with Cece's nap (and didn't want her to fall asleep on the ride home) so instead of our normal stop at Jeni's ice cream at the North Market, I promised I'd make Lucy an ice cream sundae at home when Cece was napping

Cece loves this stuffed monkey and is always rubbing its tail under nose....such a weird thing but she fell right asleep when she was doing it on Sunday

Getting the food spread ready for the game....fruit salad & chocolate chip cookies....

as well as corn dip, homemade guacamole, and slow cooker cream cheese salsa chicken that can be served with chips as a dip or in a burrito

Sara & Jay came over with their 3 kiddos so while the dads watched the game & the younger girls, the older kids were playing in Lucy's room and the moms were catching up (I wish I had taken more pictures because the older girls were so adorable when they were dressing up and playing Frozen)
