We had quite a busy weekend! At our local Y, they were hosting a "Healthy Kids' Day" on Saturday so we went there for about an hour or so and then decided to check out another Y about 15 min north of us to go swimming. We've gone swimming at our Y before but we had heard this other Y was better suited for little ones and it was great! Part of the reason we wanted to go swimming too is because in the past month, Cece has been terrified of taking baths so she now takes a shower and while we've started to plug the drain to let the tub fill up, she refuses to sit down in the water. We wanted to take her to a pool to see if she'd actually get in the water (just thinking ahead to the summer). Luckily, she did and had fun! Saturday evening we had our babysitter come over so Todd & I could go out to the movies to see I Feel Pretty (literally, the first time at the theater together in almost 3 years) and have dinner at Vittoria. Sunday was the perfect spring day so we spent a few hours at the zoo--our first trip of the year! It felt so good to be outside with the sun shining--I can't wait for more weekends like this last one!
Lucy getting her face painted at the Y
She picked a princess theme--I thought it was a bit much but she loved it
Cece even got a few hearts on her cheek
The highlight for Cece was meeting Elsa & Anna--she has a stuffed Anna doll she sleeps with and is obsessed with it! As soon as we walk into her room before her nap or bed time, the first thing she says is "Anna!"
We went outside to pet some goats...
and check out the fire truck
Zero depth entry into the pool was perfect and Cece loved the splash pad-like area while Lucy enjoyed practicing swimming and jumping into the water in the deeper area
