The days always seem to go by so much faster when the weather is nice and we can get outside...and Friday was no exception! When Lucy was at school in the morning, Cece & I walked to the splash pad park that's a little less than a mile from our house in our "downtown" area. We're planning on having her birthday party there in July and I needed to scope out a few things before we officially decided what we're doing. After picking Lucy up from school, we drove home and quickly grabbed the lunches I had already packed and loaded up the stroller to walk to another park in Powell (this one was even further away, about 1.5 mile from our house) where the annual touch-a-truck was being held. The girls checked out and climbed into/onto several vehicles before the event started to wind down (we got there when it was already halfway over) and we had our picnic lunch. They played on the playground for a few minutes before making the walk back home. It was a busy morning/early afternoon but I swear the time flew by and being outside always makes for much happier kids than being stuck inside all day.
First time eating cereal with milk and a spoon
Splash pad playground (the splash pad is behind the playground)
Driving the train
Going down the slide
She walked over to this and said "cheese!" and when I asked if she wanted me to take her picture, she responded with a yes so I obviously had to fulfill her request!
When it was time to leave, Cece was so hesitant to step from the blue area and back onto the cement path; it literally took her a solid 2 min to get the courage to gingerly pick up her foot and move it
On the Mount Carmel hospital mobile unit that had life-size dummies
Lucy was most excited to check out the mobile dog grooming truck
Girls on the school bus
Lucy climbed up into this big truck to see what it did
Cece on the fire truck
Stopped to play a game of cornhole
All ready for the walk back home
Lucy walked about half of the way there and half of the way back
