Summer feels like it's officially here to stay with this last weekend being a very hot & humid 90+ degrees! We cooled off at Zoombezi Bay on Saturday during the day and walked to Shorty's Pizza & Growl for dinner. On Sunday, for Father's Day, the girls & I took Todd & my dad to Hoof Hearted Brewery + Kitchen for beers and brunch. The food was so good and I'd definitely go back again to check out their diner menu. While Todd washed the cars (I told him to relax since it was Father's Day but he actually enjoys washing the cars), Lucy & I hung out in the backyard in the inflatable pool and Cece napped. I love summer weekends and am already looking forward to this next one!
Todd & I started our weekend off with our monthly sushi date night in on Friday
Ready to hit the pool
They attempted to go down the slide together...
but Lucy left Cece at the top
Chilling in the pool
Todd left his sunglasses in his parents' car last weekend so he's currently rocking these cheap red sunglasses that Cece insisted on wearing
Not in the mood for a picture...or it was just too sunny
Love watching them play and hang out together
Shorty's just opened less than a half mile from our house a few months ago and it was our first time trying it out; the pizza was really good & we said we'd add it to our list of places to pick up pizza from on our pizza nights at home
Todd & I
Apparently we were the only ones who decided to eat outside
Lucy attempted to play this golf game, I think her game was over after about 60 seconds
During dinner, we could hear thunder off in the distance and then we realized it was quickly getting darker out so as soon as we paid the bill, we booked it home to beat the storm (and we made it just in time! It started pouring about 2 min after we got home)
Celebrating Father's Day at Hoof Hearted
View of the brewery portion
Todd & my dad each enjoyed a taster tray
The girls split these brunch balls which were donut balls with syrup and whipped cream
I had a BELT (BLT with an egg)
My dad got the Hoofy Breakfast (sausage, eggs, biscuit, potatoes) and Todd got the Nacho Breakfast
Cece looks so serious
Oh wait, there's my little ham posing & cheesing it up!
Walking back to the car
Once home, the dads opened their presents
Todd reading an "All About Dad" questionnaire that Lucy filled out
And Grandpa reading his "All About Grandpa" one
Helping daddy open his presents
The girls put on a show for us and then Lucy insisted on taking our picture (it actually turned out well!)
Lucy helped Todd wash the cars for a little bit before deciding that the inflatable pool seemed like more fun
I was surprised she helped him as long as she did
