Hanging Out With the Girls

We had quite a bit of yard work that needed to get done this past weekend so Todd ended up spending the majority of Saturday and Sunday working on the yard while I spent time with Lucy & Cece.  Also, the weather called for rain on Friday and Sunday so we found indoor activities to do and of course, it literally rained for like 10 minutes each day.  With that being said, I took the girls to Tree of Life Play Cafe in Hilliard on Friday for a few hours.  They were having buy one get one free admission and we needed to be on that side of town anyways to pick up a Father's Day present for Todd at Crafted Drafts.  The girls loved the play cafe (we went once before but it was over a year ago) and I was surprised they played for a solid couple hours before we got lunch.  We ran a few errands and then got home just in time for Cece's nap (she was literally minutes away from falling asleep in the car which is the worst).

Cece immediately found a toy to play with

Lucy hanging out at the play area with a trampoline, slide, and ball pit

Lucy helped Cece climb and crawl to the top of the slide and they came down together

Made it!

And then I was surprised Cece made her way up to the slide and went down by herself

After a couple hours, we ordered pb&j with a side of fries for the girls to share

Todd's Father's Day present from the girls is a custom designed Tervis beer mug with a 6 pack of beer that Lucy picked out from Crafted Drafts; I literally told her to pick out 6 beers that had the best labels so we'll see what Todd thinks of her selection

Our summer Friday afternoon tradition is ice cream sandwiches outside

I was in charge of the girls on Saturday & Sunday while Todd worked hard in the yard (Saturday he tore out all the bushes on the side of our house, bought & planted new ones, and cut the grass while he mulched on Sunday).  The girls & I went to the zoo on Saturday and hung out at home on Sunday (they called for rain in the afternoon so I was hesitant to make a trip somewhere outside if it was going to rain and of course it never did).  We also all went to Easton on Saturday for dinner at Flipside Burger and had dessert at the newly opened Smallcakes Cupcakery.

Dinosaur Island is back at the zoo

So we went to the zoo with no intention of actually seeing any animals except the giraffes; Lucy picked what we did and we started with a carousel ride

Cece was still terrified of the carousel even sitting with me on the bench

Apparently she didn't like the loud music either

Big sis loved it though!

Stopping to play on our way up to the polar bear playground & Africa

Cece was in the stroller most of the day but did get out to walk with Lucy for a little bit before it got too crowded

I love how much they love each other and want to play together

Cece found a new friend

Lucy feeding the giraffes

and then she helped Cece

We went to the petting zoo and then over to Jungle Jack's Landing to do some rides before heading home; Lucy rode the teacups by herself...

and the elephants

We all rode the train to end with

Todd had just finished planting the new bushes when we got home (we alternated boxwoods and hydrangeas)

Our rose bush finally bloomed a few days ago too

Todd's well deserved beer at dinner at Flipside Burger

We hadn't been here in a couple years and Todd & I both commented on how good the burgers were and that we should come here more often

She asked me to take her picture.....but why does she look like she's 10 here??

Throwing pennies in the fountain

I was so excited to hear that Smallcakes Cupcakery was finally coming to Columbus after trying it in Florida last year

The girls split a vanilla cupcake with pink frosting

Cece obviously had no problem eating her half

I ordered a smash to take home which is one of their cupcakes split in half with 2 scoops of their homemade ice cream in the middle; I got a vanilla cupcake with chocolate icing with peanut butter cup ice cream

And on Sunday, my dad was on the news!  The girls were so excited to see Grandpa on TV

An attention-grabbing discussion is worth comment. I believe that you must write more on this subject, it may not be a taboo topic however typically persons are not enough to speak on such topics. To the next. Cheers casino blackjack
