First Day of Kindergarten

We had a big milestone in our house yesterday--Lucy started Kindergarten!  Our school district does full day Kindergarten with kids either going Monday/Thursday or Tuesday/Friday and they alternate Wednesdays.  Lucy is on the Monday/Thursday schedule since I typically don't work on Fridays and can spend the day with both girls (and not have to find child care).  She met her teacher and saw her classroom on Monday night at the school's open house and she was thrilled to see lots & lots of shelves filled with books.  She seriously started pulling books off and looking at them right away--I love my little bookworm!  She's been excited to start Kindergarten for awhile now and I was so happy to hear when she got off the bus that she had "the best day ever and loves Kindergarten so much."

Todd also had a big day yesterday because he had his first day at OSU for his Graduate Certificate Program through Honda.  He'll be going to class at OSU for 3 days in a row (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 8-5) every other month and in between he'll be assigned readings, projects, and papers to do.  The program ends next spring with a capstone project.  Only 30 people from Honda were accepted into this inaugural program and I'm really proud of him for doing this.

Obligatory first day of school photo

Can't believe this is already Lucy's 4th first day of school....and in just a few weeks, Cece will have her very first day of school too!

Another picture outside

and one of her new bookbag

Picture with daddy because....

it was also his first day of school!

With my girls before dropping them off and heading to work

I dropped Cece off at my parent's and then drove Lucy to school for Y Club (we had to sign her up for before care at her school since the bus doesn't come until 8:45 AM and Todd & I both have to be at work before then)

Since I only work half days, Lucy is able to ride the bus home (which she was also very excited about) and Cece & I couldn't wait to see our big girl get off the bus

All smiles after her first day

And Cece was all smiles too to have her big sister & best friend back home
