Zoo, KidsFest, and Our Anniversary Celebration

We had quite the weekend--we ended up going to the zoo (twice!), going to KidsFest, and Todd & I celebrated our anniversary (which was actually yesterday).

On Friday, we met Lynn & her kiddos at the zoo but unfortunately we were only able to stay for a little over an hour before the skies opened up into a torrential downpour.  We got soaked!  Like, it looked like we had just taken a shower after running back to the car (two weeks in a row we get rained on and although we had raincoats and umbrellas this week, it didn't help because it was raining so much).  We got home around lunch time, had an indoor picnic, and ended up staying at home the rest of the day.

Lucy joined me for the last few minutes of my workout on Friday morning

Todd had class all day on Saturday so after taking the girls to the Y, we stopped by KidsFest to check it out. The girls were thrilled to get glitter tattoos and play on the playground.  We had to run a few errands (my Spinning shoes broke last week so I needed to buy some new ones for teaching--and riding at home on my own) and arrived home right in time for Cece's nap.  Todd got home from class around 6:00 PM and then we had our babysitter coming over so we could go to dinner at Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse & celebrate our anniversary

To be honest, we weren't super impressed with the food (especially for how expensive it was) but did love their mac & cheese

but of course I wasn't going to pass up ordering this massive piece of buckeye cake (this picture doesn't do it justice, this was HUGE!)

After hanging out with just the girls on Friday & Saturday, we were excited to have Todd join us on Sunday.  Lucy wanted to go back to the zoo (primarily to do the dinosaur boat ride since she was scared to do it on Friday) and we agreed since we wanted to do something outside to take advantage of the nice weather.  Cece got to see the giraffes (her request) and Lucy was able to do the dinosaur boat ride which she said she now loves.  We saw a few other animals and ended our day there riding rides at Jungle Jack's Landing.

Cece was a little apprehensive once the ride started

So proud of Lucy for riding this (which she later admitted she wouldn't do again)

She was definitely scared...look at her little face
