We celebrated Cece's 3rd birthday with our family and friends last Saturday with a Shimmer & Shine themed party at our local park. Despite the extremely hot temperatures (it got to 94 degrees that day), it didn't feel too bad in the shade under the shelter and I think all the kids had a fun time. I mean, how can you go wrong with a playground, face painting, pinata, and cake? I always wish I had more time to hang out with friends and family that came but it's really challenging to chat with everyone while also coordinating what's going on with the party (making sure there's still food, getting all the kids to come over for the cake, etc.) and it's always more fun to just be a party goer!
Fabulous cookie platter as always thanks to Cookie Crumbs
We rented the shelter at the park (which luckily had outlets so we plugged in a couple fans to cool people off) and the kids could play on the 2 playgrounds
I was really happy with the favor bags turned out; I spray painted clothespins with gold glitter and put jewels on them
The face painter we hired did an amazing job and I was so impressed that she actually did her research and had some Shimmer & Shine designs she could do
Lucy's turn
The girls looked so cute

There were even different color layers on the inside

One of my good friends, Emily, drove her girls down from Cleveland to come; I hadn't seen her in awhile so even though it was a short visit, it was nice to catch up; on a side note, the 3 of us (plus another friend) ran the Boston Marathon together 10 years ago!
